- All of us are passionate about preserving the human-animal bond and increasing access to affordable veterinary care for all families by providing low cost preventative care, increasing access to spay/neuter, and public education.
- We are a teaching clinic. We believe in investing in our staff and creating a productive and supportive work environment where people can learn, teach, and grow in their career. But in order to do that, the staff has to have both the time and energy to teach and learn. It is a fact that burnout, compassion fatigue, and even depression plague our industry. We attack those problems head on in a very simple way so staff member get the time to learn and teach. First we overstaff by one or two every day. Second, we give the staff extra/enough time off so they can heal physically, mentally, and even emotionally. That extra time away from work to spend with family and friends, we understand the tremendous value in that which we believe is represented by a simple formula: Enough time off = Better Medicine and happier employees. Plus being overstaffed ensures time to learn and teach. Sure that is not maximizing profit and we are going to do it anyway. That is why we are only open 4-days a week and never on the weekends or Mondays.
- We also believe in hiring for attitude and training for skill. The right attitude by every member of the staff creates the kind of work environment that we all want to work in, one that is collaborative, supportive, and productive.

Before moving to the area and starting Tri-State Spay/Neuter Clinic, Dr. Tracy Land became involved with Georgia's Forsyth County Humane Society in 1976, where she served ten years on the Board of Directors. She opened her first practice, Pet Vet, in 1987 after receiving her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Georgia. In 1997 she and her staff received specialized training in pediatric sterilization. With all the experience, training and education Dr. Land has perfected these surgical spay/neuter procedures to provide the lowest possible cost, while assuring the utmost in safety and fastest recovery time possible for the patient. She helped train over 100 veterinarians and veterinary technicians/nurses. She has donated / volunteered thousands of hours and dollars helping animals at shelters, humane societies, animal rescues, and has personally fostered over 300 homeless animals. In 2016, Dr. Land went over the 100,000 low cost spay/neuter surgeries in her 30 + year career.
When Dr. Land wanted to slow down and start transitioning over to less days and less hours, she started interviewing rescues and Humane Societies in Western NC, where she wanted to move to, to see who may have the same passion as she did for Low Cost Spay/Neuter. She found that in Logan's Run Rescue and together they opened Tri-State Spay/Neuter Clinic in the Fall of 2015. |
